John B. Lanning, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Hutchings Law Group’s office in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Lanning grew up on a small farm outside of Kansas City, Missouri and attended college at Saint Louis University where he earned a degree in Accounting with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Mr. Lanning studied Chinese language throughout high school and for all four years of college, and can proficiently read, write, and communicate in Mandarin.

Mr. Lanning attended Law School at William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. While in Law School Mr. Lanning was a contributor to the William and Mary Business Law Review, served as the treasurer of the Art and Cultural Heritage Society, and was a Board Member for the Virginia Law Related Education Institute. During law school, Mr. Lanning worked for the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic, the Republican National Committee Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and Democracy for Development, an NGO in Prishtinë, Kosovo. Mr. Lanning has traveled extensively, visiting East Asia, the middle east, and Eastern Europe.

After completing Law School in 2020 Mr. Lanning relocated to Nevada and began practicing in Las Vegas. Mr. Lanning focuses his practice on contract litigation matters. Mr. Lanning is licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

Outside of the office Mr. Lanning enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid competitive shooter, participating in USPCA, IDPA and 3-Gun competitions as well as building his own firearms.
